More than 50 movies will be shown @ The Pavilion Theater in Brooklyn from Feb 14th to Feb 19th - THE COOLEST pieces are animations, that's why they are the highlight of our TIP OF THE MONTH . This is the perfect program for parents and kids who want to educate their families and support a sustainable GREEN world without nuclear waste and danger.
The Uranium Film Festival started in 2011 and since then, has traveled to many countries and in the US. They feature documentaries, comedies and even cartoons to educate audiences about the consequences of uranium mining, and nuclear exploitation in all levels of society.
EDUCATING THE NEW GENERATIONS ABOUT ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES
To talk about ecology and environment with kids is not always easy.
Usually parents and educators are not proficient on green energy or recycling as they would like to be so they end up leaving lessons on sustainability to the experts who, on the other hand, know little about childcare or infant learning.
Nowadays the most of the highly educated children already know the planets future is on their hands and that the world should to get rid off dirty and dangerous nuclear energy. Unfortunately there is not much information on uranium processing and nuclear energy production on schools, libraries ,TV or internet channels to help everyone learn about its deadly consequences.
To bridge the communication/ literature gap a non-profit organization called Yellow Archives created the International Uranium Film Festival to promote and award the production of nuclear documentaries, features and animation movies.
